There are many design influences and consequently a large variety of motifs of various medallions, diamonds, latch-hooked zig-zags and other geometric shapes. However, it is the wonderful natural dye colours used with rich reds, blues, yellows and greens which make them stand out from other rugs. The ability of the Caucasian weaver to use dramatic colours and patterns is unequalled in the rug weaving world. All our Kazak are knotted in hand spun wool which is much thicker ply than machine spun wool. Consequently, the knots pack in more densely giving a very inexpensive and extremely hardwearing rug. We have the fringes cut back and tea dyed to give the illusion of age, but in fact all these rugs are brand new. They suit very contemporary to the most traditional settings. A most versatile rug. The super Kazak and Turkoman rugs are very fine version utilising very lustrous Afghani Ghazni wool and double the knots.

Every pile rug has a nap so that the pile lies in one direction.
