Hand-made in Iran from wool. This rug contains approximately 402000 knots, and would have taken 67 days to weave and finish.
This piece is the very finest mixed flat weave and pile carpet to be found in the region, a real collectible. It is a mixture of soumak (flat weave) and pile carpet, a very difficult combination and painstaking weaving process. Only the Belouchi tribes people have truly mastered this painstaking method of combining two types of weave. It is rare to find such good examples especially at such a good price. They are also extremely hardwearing for the floor or a wonderful art piece for the wall.
