Our excellent synthetic rubber underlay (vinyl coated polyester) is imported from Germany as they are the largest importers of hand-made rugs in the world and have developed the best underlay. It is called Wundergrip and is for hard floors only, hardwood, ceramic, vinyl, or cork floors for example. Please contact us if you are putting the rug on top of wall to wall carpet for a different product. It has a 10-year guarantee not to stick or crumble and we have been selling it for 30 years with no issues.
It is engineered with a slightly bumpier side and a slightly flatter side, bumpy to the rug, flat side to the floor.
We cut it to within 2 inches (5 cm) of the length of the rug and you can leave as much as 4 inches (10 cm) on each side, though 1 to 2 inches (2 to 5 cm) is ideal.
